LETS PARTY Posted July 28, 2008 #151 Share Posted July 28, 2008
You get your choice of one free entry to a Slots Tournament OR one free entry to the Blackjack Tournament. We always do slots because I don't gamble...but I can push a button. 20 year old son plays the blackjack tournament. Hubby won the Slots on the Imagination in January....$500.00 woo hoo!!! But considering the number of times we have played...those are not good odds....so this is why we don't gamble....;)
can I use my wifes free entry if she doesnt want it? were both platinum Rob
BEEZALAR Posted July 28, 2008 #152 Share Posted July 28, 2008
I have a question on the Priorty Debarkation for Platinum cruisers. Our 10th with Carnival is this December. Are you separated from the general crowd of "Self Assist" people debarking the ship? Are you escorted out ahead of them so you are first off the ship? This really doesn't matter so much for this cruise since our flight is not untill 3:30pm but, we did have a flight option leaving at 11:30 that we were thinking about. We may choose the earlier flight in the future!
I was platinum last november on the Sensation and when we debarked, we were told to meet in the card room. They escorted us off the ship FIRST, before they started calling colors, numbers or letters. We were treated like royalty......it was great! :p I'm sure they all do it alittle different but that's to be expected. Trisha

runcassrun_07 Posted July 28, 2008 #154 Share Posted July 28, 2008
Questions... that what this whole site is for!!! LOL Platinum members receive a COMPLIMENTARY TOURNAMENT ENTRY card (for the slots or blackjack). The last four cruises I have been fairly lucky - I made it into the blackjack tournament finals THREE times, and won TWO - all thanks to those FREE cards!!! :D Tom
OK, I remember, I forgot we get a card as a player in the tournament.:)
LHP Posted July 28, 2008 #155 Share Posted July 28, 2008
The SR. 200 (College Road) exit is the best. There are plenty of hotels to choose from. There are also lots of restaurants and stores at that exit. At the high end, you have the Hilton there. More towards the middle, you have La Quinta, Courtyard Mariott, Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn (which is brand new), and Country Inn and Suites. Its a good area around there, so I don't think you should have any trouble. Let me know if theres anything else Ocala related you need to know. After 25 years, I know it backwards and forwards!
Thanks so much!!! I know here in the Memphis area....there are several exits off 1-40 heading to Nashville that you don't want to stay at...so it always helps to ask those that know!!! REDZONE Posted July 29, 2008 #157 Share Posted July 29, 2008 We are Platinum on our next cruise, " We're late cruisers". If my DW and I both are platinum, do we both get a gift or is that per cabin? Or want a special dining time or seat, do we have priority? Tom I got the my cabin (4237) because of your reviews and photo's.

So far, since they have started with the thermos...it has still been "per person" ...however, I expect them to go "per cabin" with that eventfully as well. If you do only get one thermos and you want another one, simply go to the Purser's Desk and let them know there are TWO Platinum folks in your cabin. They will give you another one. One of the perks is "guaranteed seating" (early or late)...whichever is your preference.

On our recent Inspiration cruise though the AC was the coldest yet - easily keeping the room in the low 70's . . . well, perhaps mid 70's during the day. bp traveler Posted July 29, 2008 #167 Share Posted July 29, 2008 On our last cruise on the Victory which made us Platinum I was asked by the pursur by the Concierge line to please go to the back of the line, not once on the cruise but TWICE!!! Really made me mad I had been standing there for at least 10 minutes and they helped people in the regular line. I even had my card out so they could clearly see I was in the right line. So I was thinking these perks weren't all they were made out to be - but we did enjoy the free laundry service and I guess we have quite a few thermos coming our way (not sure what I can do with more than one of them though!) I can see if they were already helping a reg guest first, then asked if you could wait till they were finished and then immediately took care of you... If not, find me someone who can! I do try to be respectful. If there is only one Purser working the desk and it is not an emergency....I just wait in the regular line. However, if there are two or more there...I walk right up to the Platinum line!!
