Visa questions

We're booked on Voyager from Singapore through the UAE and off in

Istanbul. The web page indicates some visa requirements but only

gives ZVS for info......and ZVS doesn't post until 90 days in advance.

--Does anyone know whether if we disembark in Istanbul and stay there 1 night we need a visa?

--Do we need a visa for Qatar even tho this is a ship stop?

1. You will be "landing" (i.e. Leaving the ship) in Istanbul, therefore a Turkish visa is a necessity.

2. Qatar did not require individual visas when we were last there. The ship obtained a blanket visa for the day..

Have a great time!

we have done a couple of cruises into Istanbul...never needed a visa...they want in to the EU so treat everybody coming from EU countries on cruises under treaty...if you fly into Istanbul and join your cruise the same day you need a visa even though you are leaving the same day...only complication is your staying 2 days...this may change things but I doubt it...even if you need a visa you most likely can get one day of arrival like you can at the airport....so I would say relax and wait for more definate info...but if you are like me you NEED to know...turkish embassy is online..email them and ask

One thing that's clear about visas....is that it's not very clear at all!

From everyone's notes, I can only gather that the rules keep changing.

I'll post when I get the answers to my specific questions.

Thanks

Back in 1993 I called the Turkish Embassy to ask a few questions and they were very helpful.

I have recently emailed Sweden and Denmark and had quick answers.
