Island Village - Shopping in Ocho Rios

I read about a relatively new Island Village Shopping Area in Ocho Rios - opened in 2002 or so.

 

Can anyone provide some feedback on this? Is it a reasonable diversion, waste of time, very interesting???

 

I am looking for something simple for the family to walk to from the cruise port.

Its a short and easy walk from where the ship docks. Lots of security all around. There were dancers and musicians from Jamaca playing and performing which was interesting. At the far end is Margaritaville with a beach that you can go to if you want to spend some extra time. There is a small charge to use the beach area.

 

There is another shopping area that is also walkable not far away from Island Village if you decide you want to ship a bit more. I think it was called Taj Mahal or something close to that. It was a short walk further down the street.
