Getting Cash From the Casino

My husband and I sailed on Royal Carribean last summer and they allowed you to get cash in the casino from your sail and sign card. I'm wondering if Carnival allows you to do the same thing.

Yes you can or at the purser's desk. If you are planning on playing slots anyway, you can transfer money directly into the machine using your S&S card. You can always cash out back to the card. And then go to another machine and tranfer the funds or part of it into it. At the end tranfer back to the card, take your S&S card to the Cashier in the casino and they will pull the funds for you.

On a Princess ship that I was on, they had it to where you can even withdraw money from your sail & sign card at the slot machine. Has Carnival implemented this yet? Boy can I get myself in trouble with that. That's a little too convenient. :eek:

Ohhhhh yes.... It WAS TOO TOO convenient for me!!

 

I got caught in that trap... $20.00 here, $20.00 there... right to the slot machines.... and before I knew it I was $400.00 down!!

 

I learned my lesson, from now on, it is cash only in those machines!

OK, here we go again.... Yes, you can get cash in the casino at a machine on your sign and sail card with NO charge. Let me explain...

 

You take your card, put it into any machine and set up a pin #. You can take up to $200 a day on the sign and sail card on a machine.... It will/has to be transferred into the machine as a credit. At this point, of course you can play with it, you can press the button to have the $200 come out in coin or you can put it back onto your sign and sail card. Then you can take the sign and sail card to the Cashiers Cage and they will give you the cash back, again, no charge....

 

Now, if you are sitting at a table playing or even go up to the Cashiers Cage with the sign and sail card, and ask for a cash advance of $200, they will add a 3% surcharge.... So, in ending this long explanation, yes, you can take money from your sign and sail card at any machine for no charge.

I do this all the time too. I take a cash advance on my S&S card thru the slot machine and they charge me 3% everytime.........

Now this of course is when we sign up for our S&S we use our credit card. So what they are basically doing is giving me cash advance from my credit card and charging me 3%.

Now it may be different if you put cash down for your S&S:confused:

I got cash at the casino from the cash window and was never charged. They thought I was going to use it in the casino. It was added to S & S card. It was never much, $100 at the most. Of course this was on Princess so Carnival may by different. I am cruising on Carnival for the first time in 20 years next September. So excited.

I used my S+S card to get cash on the Fascination last September on my cruise. I even remember specifically when I was pulling the cash out it read on the LED screen "No Charge"

 

I was not charged a 3% fee. I also had a credit card on file and no OBC or anything.
