bluesea777 Posted July 31, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2008 Yeah, very! Christmas, New Year and Xmas/NewYear combo cruises are very popular that you have to book ages ages in advance to secure the cabin(s) of your choice. They are always full with high percentage of kids. They are fun! We're going on our 4th one this year.
lukes Posted July 31, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 31, 2008 As stated Christmas & new years cruises are extremely popular, that is why they are double in price. Cruises lines know this and know that people are willing to pay this. For many people this is the only time they can get a way as a family. Most ships will have hundreds of kids. Our New Years cruise last year on the Gem had over 900 kids. We did have a great time and are booked again for this year. yes I would like to pay less, but we fall into that category as being one of the few weeks we can get away as a family. bluesea777 Posted July 31, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 31, 2008 Are we talking kids or teenagers??? Both! All ages from 6 mos (legal age to be allowed to cruise) to 100+. Is there anything better than NOT having to do any cooking, cleaning up, working during the Xmas/NewYear period? If the answer is NO, then you're on this cruise!! I expect that our NCL Sun Xmas/NewYear South American cruise will be filled with South American families - we don't mind - it will be interesting and a change for us. Come on, give it a try - if your budget allows it.
