Rare Coral Posted July 31, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2008 I am considering going to Whistler for a few days before a cruise - trying to decide between the Pan Pacific Village Center and Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside. We are just interested in walking around Whistler..... Is one of these hotels better than the other? We will be there mid September. The Fairmont is considerable more - I would consider other hotels if there are some good recommendations. Thanks.

The Faimont's Chateau Whistler is the jewel in Whistler's crown, a lovely hotel and a perfect location. Pan Pacific's Whistler Village location is on the edge of the village, about 10 years older then it's sister property, but a great hotel in a great location. I have always felt that the Pan Pacific Whistler was in a dumb location, it is on a ring, service road and it's front is kind of everyone elses' back door. A lovely hotel to be sure just not a great location. In order of preference, Chateau Whistler, PP Whistler Village, PP Whistler. The other that are very good hotels, in the same league as the others are the Le Chamois and the Four Seasons. Here is a location map. http://www.whistleronline.ca/whistler_hotels_map.html

Now lets hope the road is open the day I have to get to my ship. Theresa
Putterdude Posted July 31, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 31, 2008 I am sure that you will enjoy the heck out of the Chateau, it is certainly my favourite up there and a promo rate makes it even more enjoyable.:)
