Future NCL cruise credit

So, I'm strolling down memory lane by reading the dailys posted by alaskacruiselvr from a May trip to Alaska on the Pearl in another thread when I spotted on page 2 of day one the following: "Deposit $250 today towards another cruise with NCL within the next 2 1/2 years and as bonus get $100 credit on your current onboard account to spend this cruise. Plus, one lucky winner will enjoy dinner and wine for two in Le Bistro. Se the Cruise Consultant for more details. Time: 6:00pm-8:00pm." Did I miss something?? Thought you had to use the future cruise credit within one (1) year? Is this new or something specific to the Pearl and/or this particular cruise?

We purchased one on the Pearl in November. It states "Don't forget to book your next cruise within 12 months and complete your cruise within 30 months from purchase" So....we booked one within 3 months and are traveling within 11 months :D

yep that's the way it works... We did the same thing, purchased one on the Sun booked with in a few months...

We purchased ours on the Dawn 6/08. Within 10 days of getting home, we had our next cruise booked/deposited!

 

It's a super deal and you really can't beat it - especially loved the instant $100 OBC:) .

Well worth the money. We bought ours on the Dawn in February. Booked in July for a December romp in the Caribbean. The $100.00 credit came right off the bottom line of our bill when we checked out. I'll buy another one when on the Spirit. It will be my Christmas present to ME.....

I just used mine to book a cruise on the Spirit in January 2010. I liked the fact that I didn't need any deposit as the $250 was applied to it instead if the usual $500 deposit. I have until Nov 2009 for final pay.

Yes it's a great deal and along with using the NCL credit card I can take a cruise next year for free. The $100.00 on board credit is wonderful!

For example, I purchase this option on our upcoming cruise. I use the certificate for a cabin deposit for DH & me ($250 vs. $500). Total hypothetical price for the 2 of us on the next cruise is $3000. Is final payment $2500 or $2750?

 

I have read that we can only use one certificate per cabin, right? Not per person?

Balance due will be $2750. Actually, you're technically paying $100 less, because you got that on board credit when you bought the FCC.

I believe the point is to purchase the FCC to use to book a future cruise, so I'd say no, but I guess it won't hurt to inquire when you're on the Sky.

I bought two certificates during my cruise last year. I booked one cruise and have a month left to book the next. I think I know the answer but want to confirm. What if I don't book my second cruise. I will get back by $250 deposit minus the $100 OBC ($150) correct.
