Chicagomom Posted April 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2004 BUT, is there any other place to park with access to Port Everglades? $12 a day seems kind of steep for my car to just sit there. Do they charge for 6 days on a 5 night cruise? I would assume so, which means $72 each for at least 4 cars (15 in our party). I thought I heard about parking at the airport which was a little cheaper. Anyone know about that or any other alternatives? Thanks. 'til Enchantment of the Seas cruise!!! dcourt Posted April 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2004 We are staying at the Embassy Suites on 17th Street and they will let me park my car there for $7 per night all the way through to the end of my cruise which is a 10 day cruise. A few of the hotels in the area will let you park your car in their lot so long as you were a guest either at the beginning of your cruise or at the end of your cruise. Rare OceanCruise Posted April 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Can't answer your question but I wish the NY port was $12 a day-- it is now $22 a day to park.
cmjaffe Posted April 12, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Thought NYC pricing was closer to the $25 day mark (when factoring taxes) -- not sure about Bayonne.. hpe it's less. Carolyn
JH1002 Posted April 12, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Well, just keep in mind what a savings $12 - $25 dollars per day is over having to pay $300 to $600 in airfare?! JH "Born To Cruise" 23 Voyages and counting!

I'm hoping to book my son and mother-in-law into Embassy the night before our cruise (they have to fly in), so that might take care of one car, but we'll have at least 3 others--my sister lives about an hour and a half away from Fort Lauderdale, so most of us will be meeting at her house the day before and driving to the port on embarkation day. JH1002 I may not be flying in, but I still have to drive for 2 days there and 2 days back, and feed 4 people along the way. Two or 3 other car loads will have to do about the same. It's expensive any way you look at it. 'til Enchantment of the Seas cruise!!!
flamingosun Posted April 12, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 12, 2004 We stayed at the Days Inn and Suites in the 4100 (or 4200) block of Ocean Blvd in Ft Lauderdale the night before our cruise, and our car stayed FREE for the duration of the cruise. We shuttled to the pier from the motel for $6.00 pp. (Taxi fare is considerably more) 'til Sovereign of the Seas Sovereign 01/02, 11/02, 6/03, 08/03, 09/03 Fantasy 06/2002 Mariner 12/03 Radiance 04/
Mark_K Posted April 12, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 12, 2004 In answer to your original question, the Park n Save lots at FLL are $6/day. Chicagomom Posted April 12, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Thanks Mark_K and everyone for your responses. Mark, do you know how you can get to the port from there? Is it possible to drop everyone off (with luggage) at the pier and one person go park and return on a shuttle or something? 'til Enchantment of the Seas cruise!!! landshark Posted April 13, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I just parked at the FLL port garage and paid $84 for a 7 day cruise, $12 a day. They don't nab you for an extra day.
Jeepers385 Posted April 13, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 13, 2004 If you stay at the Amerisuites you can park your car for free and have free shuttle service to pier and when you return they'll pick you up and return you to hotel.
