2010 World Cruises

I have the brochures!

QM2 sails a 101 day "reverse" easterly world cruise this time, beginning with a NY to Soton TA, then through the Med, through the Middle East and on to India, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, China, Japan, then south to Australia, over to South Africa and then across to Rio and back to NY via the Caribbean and FLL.

QV sails a 106 day traditional westerly world cruise, beginning in NY and ending in Soton with a transfer to QM2 to NY. Itinerary is similar to the 2008 WC.

Hey Bobby, where did you get the brochures from? I just called Cunard in the UK and they are expecting them end of Aug, early Sept??

Both east bound crossings at the begining and the end of the full world cruise are seven nights. I wonder if Cunard will be making all 2010 transatlantic crossings a full week to save fuel and/or to have the time to go around nasty weather.

Nice thought. I suppose many people would appreciate a longer duration of the transatlantic crossing.

But from a pure economic view, fuel is only a part of the costs. I don't know if logistics would make a seven-day crossing a more viable solution than the present one, even with increased fuel prices.
