View of Port Everglades from Renaissance Hotel

Would you have a view of Port Everglades if you stayed at the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Hotel on 17th Street or it it too far away?

Only from the upper floors on the east side of the hotel. We've stayed at the Renaissance several times through Priceline/Hotwire and have never had a room on the east side. The best views are probably from the Grand Hotel on the southside. There are a few, very few, rooms at the Hyatt Pier 66 in the tower that have a view of the port.

We usually walk up to the 17th street bridge (4:30 in the evening), or early in the morning, to see the ships coming and going from the port.

Enjoy!

Kel

if you are in the right place, yes.....but it isn't a GREAT view...actually i walked to the end of the hall and out the door to the stairwell (it's sort of outside....hard to describe) but if the hurricane shutters are open, decent view.

i agree with the previous about the 17th street causeway.....BUT it is a STEEP walk (if it is in the HOT!!):p
