Sue L Posted August 25, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 25, 2008 the Sales events that come out on Tuesdays are for new bookings only, but if you find residency, senior or military rate discounts then they will apply though right up until sailing. Sheila56 Posted August 26, 2008 #6 Share Posted August 26, 2008 There was a recent price reduction for senior inside cabin on the 9/14/08 sailing of the Mariner of the Seas. I booked ours onboard this past spring. However, since we booked RCCL, they WILL NOT give us a reduction claiming the price of the air will increase????????? Lve2Travel Posted August 28, 2008 #7 Share Posted August 28, 2008 Just checked the promowave for 8/26 and it is showing a senior rate on our cruise date for oceanview and suites (we are booked & paid in full in a balcony)---is my TA able to request a change to the suite (which is still less than we paid for the balcony)??? Thanks.

Sheila Sheila, I was told the exact same thing with a Celebrity Cruise. Went through quite an ordeal but no luck with getting a reduction. Thanks. You should be able to get a price reduction if you booked cruise only. However, as others have reported, if you booked air with Royal, they will re-evaluate your air prices also, and you may find that your overall price is much higher. irb33785 Posted August 28, 2008 #11 Share Posted August 28, 2008 My TA booked & paid in full for a short 3day for us Monday at 5 pm- guaranteed outside. Later that evening, we found our cabin number was on deck 2. The next morning we could have guaranteed deck 7 for $10 less - RCCL would not even budge on changing the cabin from deck 2 to deck 7 saying the special was for new bookings only. I was furious since it had been less than 24 hours but RCCL hasn't even replied to my email.

The one called "Promowave" can be applied to new and existing bookings. The one called "RCI Sales Event" can only be applied to new bookings.
