Yep. This is hitting the internet like wildfire this morning. Exciting news to say the least.

Assuming that Disney gets the permits to sail Glacier Bay, don't take that to mean that they will every year. They can always resell those permits if it doesn't fit into their plans.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I highly suspected that DCL would send one of its ships to Alaska for three months a year after the two new ships were delivered.

It just makes sense for a large number of reasons. I might be pretty easily swayed to change my 9/09 Caribbean reservation to a 2010 Alaskan itinerary. :)

That is pretty exciting. I would love to cruise to Alaska, but my husband is not a fan of snow.

The only snow on the ground during the summer should be in the mountains. It CAN be chilly, however, especially on glacier-viewing days. I think Alaska is a great place to visit during the summer, because it's a nice change from the hot weather at home.

Well, I should have qualified my statement. He is into palm trees while on a cruise, not snowcapped mountains (like me, sadly). I think I can get him to Hawaii though!;)
