red1der1 Posted August 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2008 I know in the new dress code they suggest, but it is not manditory for men to wear a jacket in the dining room for Elegant Night. I am taking my 18yo nephew on my upcoming cruise and he does not want to wear a jacket. Just nice pants, button up shirt and tie. From what I have read, most people still go all out on these night regardless of what the dress code says. Would he be out of place is he didn't wear the jacket??? Thanks so much! red1der1 Posted August 26, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted August 26, 2008 Thanks so much!! I was talking to him the other night about what to pack when we go and I told him to pack his suit and he refused!!! He said he read the dress code and he was not wearing a suit since it said you didn't have too anymore. I was trying to get him to bring it anyway but he isist. Glad to see he won't be alone then. Thanks again!!

red1der1 Posted August 26, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted August 26, 2008 He will be fine. But feel free to make him sweat it out...hehehehe LOL!! I tried doing that but since he is 18, he is capable of checking the internet to find out for himself. No more getting over on him for things like this like we did when he was 10, LOL!! Marie51 Posted August 26, 2008 #9 Share Posted August 26, 2008 I was on the Victory in May and I would say about half the men wore a shirt & tie with no jacket, so your nephew will look fine.
