New to NCL - What is the 'White party'

Recommended Posts

I've seen this referenced on a few threads. I think it is a party where everyone wears white? What if you don't have an all white outfit - are you kept out?

Are there any other activities that I should pack special items for?

It is mosly the crew that wears white outfits. Girls wear short pleated white skating type skirts, mostly the tee shirts. If you desire to, you can buy a white shirt on board. Most of the guests do not go out of their way to wear white.

On that note, What is Monte Carlo night all about?

It's more just a party in the casino. They have vegas style show girls with the feather hats, loud music, free drinks if you are playing (at least the ones I went to) and have things like champagne fountains.

I was given a tuxedo T-Shirt to wear that night. Then I got to pour a magnum bottle of champaign onto a fountain of glasses that flow into one another until it fills the bottom row. Amazing. The ladies got to take turns pouring for over an hour. Free booze, I got vodka martini as long as you were playing.

Sure beats local bar hoppin'.

Since we also Ohioans including our 23

y.o. daughter will be on the Jewel Dec. 21st. What night would be the white party?

Not sure what night on the Jewel but you won't miss it. They will put up signs for it and all the crew will be wearing their white shirts. Have fun! A break from Ohio in December is always nice!

one of the joys for us of ncl is that there are very few "musts." there are a few restaurant restrictions at night re jeans and shorts, but just about anything else is optional. while a bunch of people tripped around on high high heels and cocktail dresses and black tie [no high heels], we had a GREAT dinner in the buffet and put our teva'd feet up with our shorts on and watched the sunset and went to the spa and felt tremendously freee and haaaapy and reeeelaxed. we were on a 14 cruise preceded by 10 days in miami and turks and we just didn't want to pack more than shorts, a few o.k. pants, bathing and snorkel gear....and we're in our 60's and party'd hardy plenty and just love to be freeeee now. :) it's totally up to you and what YOU want.

It's where a moron of a DJ plays incredibly bad (and I mean BAD) disco at dangerously high volumes, and then keeps switching to equally bad cuts all at EXACTLY the same beat.

Which was when we exited.

(BTW, is EVERY DJ on NCL a complete nincompoop or are all disco DJs everywhere nincompoops?)

It was at 11PM on Tuesday 2-Sep (Next to last night) which was a sea day. It followed on from the fantastic Cirque Bijou show (10PM) and was great fun.
