How much do we tip in a suite for 4 people?

We chose not to pre-pay our gratuities and have now changed cabins to a suite for 4 of us (all adults). How much should we tip at the end of our week's cruise?

If it is a jr suite it is the same as the other cabins...But a GS and about is more.

Hi

This is from the website. Totals about £170 for the week. I'm not sure if they add it to your onboard account automatically. We always prepay to avoid the big bill at the end. I thought most UK arranged cruises included them in the overall cost. If included they appear on your confirmation invoice as "On Board Service Charge"

On all our ships, it is customary to pay service charges (gratuities) to staff members who you feel have provided good service and personal attention. An approximate daily total of GBP 4.90 / EUR 7.50 (GBP 6.03 / EUR 9.24 for suite guests) per guest, per cruise day, is recommended for stateroom and dining room service for adults and children.

It says on RCI's website:

So that you can thank those who have made your cruise holiday better than you could have imagined, we've developed these guidelines for tipping:

Suite attendant:USD 5.75a day per guestStateroom attendant:USD 3.50a day per guestDining Room Waiter:USD 3.50a day per guestAssistant Waiter:USD 2.00a day per guestHead Waiter:USD 0.75a day per guestNote: These tips apply to guests of all ages.

Tips for other service personnel are at your discretion. A 15% tip will automatically be added to your bar or wine bill when you are served.

Envelopes for tips will be provided in your stateroom on the last night of the cruise. Tips may be paid in the following ways:

con_bulletgray_ico.gifPre-paid, by having them added to your reservation by your reservation agent.con_bulletgray_ico.gifAdded to your onboard SeaPass account.con_bulletgray_ico.gifPaid in cash at the end of the cruise

Therefore for you in a Suite it is $12pp pd - which is $84 pp for the week. I too always prepay to avoid this large chunk being added to my onboard account.

Theron's tip calculator is great. (as posted by Wrona)

You can pay in cash on board, but you can still "charge" your gratuities to your SeaPass account once on the ship, even if you don't pre-pay now. That's even easier - you just fill out the form and don't worry about it again. (well, until your credit card bill comes :D)
