$14.95 for STEAK???

This thread is about changing a time-honored tradition in cruising of "No extra charges for food in the MDR". Even NCL with their flotilla of extra charge restaurants does not charge extra in the MDR.

The seawall is about to be breached, and we are trying to repair it and keep the tide out.

According to the news page of CC, their are delays in the new NCL F3 series, which are to have no MDR, just a whole series of small restaurants. The partners in that company are squabbling.

I'm just hoping that someone is so outraged at the idea that RCCL would stoop so low as to charge $14.95 for a steak on the (insert name of ship here) that they will cancel their JS or above on the MN for the 10/10 sailing...........so that I can get a cabin!!:D :D :D

Here's rooting for all of you that are willing to give up your cabin in protest!!:D

Thanks in advance!!;) :D

No it's not. It's about fanatics trying to tell any cruise line how to do business! You folks just don't complain about them giving customers a new choice (yes you can still get the sirloin steak - even if not on the menu!), you complain about everything they do. This is not the place to try to change their board of directors. This is about cruising. Too many of you mouthing off about the new choice to enjoy a Chops steak in MDR either don't cruise or have not done so in years.

I wonder if some of you are short selling RCCL stock or something?

My experience with these types, is that they don't typically own stock, and they just don't understand private property rights, and they feel that they are owed something. They think because it affects them negatively that they have a right to attack anyone that they can attach to the situation. Other forum members, stock holders, CEO, customer service, captain of the ship, board of directors they really don't care who they attack, but they always find someone to blame. Could you imagine their outrage if we took a picture of the van they live in down by the river and posted it on this thread. Lord look after Chris Farley. I imagine some of them are made in his comedic image. :D

Well said, both of you.

Suddenly everybody becomes a traditionalist yet its the same people who promote raping tradition in the MDR by advertising wearing "dress" shorts and "dress" jeans.

I still can not believe that a piece of meat creates a 36 page buzz.

Again, it has nothing to do with a piece of meat.

You're right; it's about several pieces of meat - free and not free......

It's still close to one of the funniest threads I've read on CC in a long time. Character assassinations, holier than thou, outrage, anger, hopelessness, arrogance; why, it's like reading one of those tacky romance novels...it has a little bit of everything...and it's plain funny!!:D

I'll never look at steak again in the same way!!!!:D :D

Again, not about several pieces of meat. Its about starting to charge for meals in the MDR.

well, i cant help but think that there is nothing wrong with the idea,a long as we have a choice;) but IF they take away the free steak, that isnt right.

perhaps they are doing this because now that you can pre reserve chops,it will be harder to get a reservation, if you arent on top of things

myself,i would love the option for a real steak in the MDR. i am sure some of you will flame me for it ,and others not so much

just my 2 cents of course

Perhaps, just perhaps, the Chop's alternative is on the DR menu so that familes with small children can enjoy the quality of the food from a speciality restaurant without bringing their young children into the speciality restaurant

No it's not. It's about fanatics trying to tell any cruise line how to do business!

"Huzzah!! Why, the nerve ... the nerve ... of customers thinking they're allowed to speak!!

Outrageous breach of social protocol!

Who even admitted these unwashed proletarians into the parlor?? James, call the butler instantly to have them escorted out! Harrumph!! "

(yes you can still get the sirloin steak - even if not on the menu!)

"Confound it, James, whyever do these low-caste creatures insist on countering my rhetoric?

I keep announcing that the sirloin is still available. Yet not a single one of them who comes off Freedom ever suggests that this is true! How dare they presume to know better than I?!? Impertinence, I say, confounded impertinence!

Well, balderdash, I shall continue proclaiming my sirloin story ... and louder each time!"

This is not the place to try to change their board of directors. This is about cruising. Too many of you mouthing off about the new choice to enjoy a Chops steak in MDR either don't cruise or have not done so in years.

"Lowly serfs, hear me. It is I, Lord Fred, exalted ruler of all, who shall determine who is entitled to speak here ... and what they may speak of ... and how they say it ... and ....

Ahem, James, you are still listening, aren't you? James?"

I wonder if some of you are short selling RCCL stock or something?

Ah, dude, check the stock ticker ... this week everyone should have be selling everything short.

But in full disclosure, I've precisely no RCL shares or options.

Can all of the KoolAidKontingent say the same?

End the RCL pay-per-entree scam!

I decided to try this $14.95 option on Majesty this past weekend. In fact, 3 of us tried it...while a 4th had the "regular" steak on the menu. Having dined at Chops plenty of times, I was quite disappointed. Our "Chops" steaks looked mysteriously like the regular steak..... Frankly, the only discernible difference we could see was that we got a baked potato.

Woefully unacceptable. I get the idea of offering this option, but the cut of meat we got was the exact same thing as the regular menu offering.
