jerseysmom Posted September 3, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2008 Heading out next week on the Radiance Vancouver BC to Alaska and back to San Diego. We're flying to Seattle the day before and taking the Amtrak Cascades the next morning to Vancouver. We have reservations at the Marqueen Hotel in Seattle. Anyone been there before? 6rugrats Posted September 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2008 Never stayed at the MarQueen, but have been by. Only bad things I have heard about it is that there is no elevator, parking is difficult, and if you want quiet, you should ask for a room in the rear of the hotel. It's an older building, smallish (3 to 4 floors max). I don't believe it has any AC, but you won't need it right now anyway, as fall is beginning to set in and temps averaging in the mid to high sixties during the day, and down to the low 50's at night. There are a number of good restaurants within a 1-2 block radius. Walking distance to Seattle Center. Nothing special, but nothing bad, either. Sailorgirlseattle Posted September 3, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 3, 2008 Haven't been in the hotel, but it's always drawn my curiosity .. I love the old architecture. It's also a great location in Lower Queen Anne, with tons of restaurants and nightlife.

SeattleCruiselover Posted September 4, 2008 #6 Share Posted September 4, 2008 Thank you, that sets my mind at ease. Is it close to the Needle? Walking distance.....about six blocks as the crow flies, a little longer as the sidewalk flows.
