Buddy Dive Bonaire

Anyone been to Buddy Dive Bonaire. Do they welcome cruisers. We are in port 12-7pm next month, want to dive with my 11 year old daughter(she PADI Certified to 12 meters) I am advanced but still only dived with guides.

Also have family of snorklers and some non confident swimmers(sunbathers!) but we all like to be together. So I thought we could go to a resort for the afternoon to suit all.

Does anyone know if Buddy Dive would accommodate or if not who may fit our needs.

Thanks for any help

Another place to look for answers is http://www.bonairetalk.com I have been to Bonaire a dozen or so dive trips in the last 20 some years. I've not been there on a cruiseship however.

You may be aware that very good shore diving is available at many resorts. Just in the Buddy's area are Habitat, Eden Beach, Sand Dollar and several more. All on the shore offer diving right offshore. My personal favorite is Habitat, but many others prefer Buddy's, etc.

Generally speaking, there is little sandy beach in the area. Eden Beach has the best beach, but the dive is not the best--a little further up is Sand Dollar, Buddy's, Habitat; in that order, and all offer a better shore dive. Habitat has what they call 7 Body Beach-it's about that size. Otherwise there are chairs and sand and a bar/restaurant above the ocean about 10 feet.

All of these places require a taxi ride of a couple of miles. Not very expensive.

Have fun--we are returning in December and looking forward to it.

can you give us Buddy's email address and do they permit shorediving just with a certification card or must you pass some type of local test? we're also making a stop at 1pm by ship for the afternoon and don't want to waste time.

I'm certain that their contact info/link is on their website: http://www.buddydive.com/
