Delta charging for bags?

I know that so many airlines are charging for bags. we purchased our tickets back in April and we fly out Friday morning. Does anyone know if they are charging for bags? For so long they weren't.

Depends on where you're traveling.

International 2 bags, 50 lbs each, no charge.

Domestic travel, 1 bag free, $25.00 for 2nd bag, then upwards from there.

Things seem to be changing daily, if not hourly. Check with the airline directly, could depend on when you purchased your tickets also.

Delta is one of the few carriers not charging for the first bag as far as I know, at this time, subject to change. :)

Checked Baggage

 

• When traveling within the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Puerto Rico you can check one bag, per passenger, free of charge.
  
• When traveling to or from cities outside the United States you can check two bags, per passenger, free of charge.

 

If you have additional bags to check, you may incur excess baggage fees.

 

Each bag must:

 

Weigh 50 pounds (22.5 kg) or less

Not exceed 62 inches when you total length + width + height

Exactly when did you purchase the tickets? Before April 9th and you get 2 bags checked free! Luckily, we purchased our tickets for Nov on April 2nd. :)

 

Otherwise 2nd bag is $25 (rises to $50 for any ticket purchased after July 31st! :eek:)

Here are all the airlines and what they charge for luggage, meals, pets, seats, etc.

Southwest is the only U.S. carrier that does not charge for the first two checked bags.
