Roselin Posted October 28, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2004 We are sailing on POA in March. We will be renting cars in Kauai and Maui, but haven't decided if we want to keep them overnight. What is the latest in the evening we could return the car and still receive shuttle service back to the ship? If we did keep it overnight in Kauai, what would we have time to do or see in the morning and still have time to return the car and make it back to the ship before it sails at 1:00? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Sammy Posted October 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2004 You really must call the rental office at each stop to find out it's last shuttle back to the ship. It will vary. Most offices do close pretty early so I'd plan on 5 being the latest back. But do check. If you got away from the ship by 8 on Kauai, you'd have time to do Waimea Canyon, spend the day on a beach at Poipu or Lydgate, or drive up past Princeville. Splinter Posted October 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2004 In Lahaina last year the office closed at 4:30PM with the last shuttle at 3:30PM. We just arranged a late turn in (about 6PM) at the rental office, then called a cab to take us back to Lahaina. Worked well and was well worth the $14 cab fare to not have to rush back from Hana. It is always best to call the direct line to the specific rental location a couple days before your trip to confirm both your reservations and the shuttle arrangements.
