Name Change Question

Hi everyone...

 

My daughter was recently adopted by my husband, 2 weeks ago actually. Her info with Carnival is under her old last name (my maiden name). We have a cruise booked and because her name had not yet been legally changed, I went with what Carnival had on record.

 

She has her new id and ss card...do you think Carnival will charge me a name change fee, given the circumstance? I can fax or mail them copies of the adoption order, etc.

My opinion would be that no, they would not charge a fee but would require documentation. I'd recommend giving them a call for a definitive answer.

It is the same person so I don't see CCL charging you a name change fee. I would be more worried about immigration if names don't jive with what Carnival has on record. Better clarify with Carnival before you get to the pier so you have everything you need in advance.

Thanks everyone! If they charge it, I will pay..but thought they might make an exception since its the same person.

 

We dont cruise until Dec 29 and we are actually going to get our passports by that time.
