jagergirl55 Posted October 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2008 This will be our first cruise with NCL. We're sailing on the Star on 10/11/08. I was just wondering if there is a charge to use their gym? Any info is appreciated. Thank you in advance! Katie
mikaula Posted October 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2008 No charge for the gym, just for the spa.

Avalonian11 Posted October 5, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 5, 2008 Hi, I just got off the Star yesterday. Hopefully this rocking sensation will subside soon. :) I just wanted to add that I used the spa (sat in the whirlpools and lounged on the loungers) and there was no extra charge. I didn't have any spa treatments, however.
slidergirl Posted October 5, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 5, 2008 You got lucky. Using that area is really a pay area. It's a $20/day fee or a weekly fee. But, they don't seem to monitor that: if you aren't using a locker or a robe, I guess you could actually sneak in. But, it IS nice to sit on the loungers and watch the ocean from the back of the ship!

There was no intentional sneaking :) Nobody stopped me, even when I went in just to check it out in my regular clothes. I really thought the fee applied to the areas with the signs on the doors that said "restricted area - members only," and I didn't go in those areas. Guess I'll know for next time! I would never lose sleep over it. At $149 a massage PLUS the auto gratuity, I think they can afford it. I have lived in Beverly Hills and Las Vegas and worked on ships and the spa treatments onboard are the most ludicrously inflated I have ever seen, bar none. We did not partake!!!
