newmexicoNita Posted October 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2008 Hi, Does anyone have a list of the costs to eat in the specialty restaurants. It varies from ship to ship: normally the Italian and Mexican restaurants will run $10 Soho or similar: $15.00 Le Bistro: 15.00 Cagneys: $20.00 And the Habachi dining table $25.00 Both La Bistro and Cagney's have house specialties that are a little more expensive... inai Posted October 13, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2008 Hi, Does anyone have a list of the costs to eat in the specialty restaurants. If you want lobster tails in Le Bistro the extra charge is another $10 over the $15.00 cover.

Nita In other words, in addition to paying extra to dine there, you then get nicked for extra if you choose certain items on the menu. So much for no $ on the right side of the menu.
Administrators Rare CC Help Michell Posted October 14, 2008 Administrators #6 Share Posted October 14, 2008 In other words, in addition to paying extra to dine there, you then get nicked for extra if you choose certain items on the menu. So much for no $ on the right side of the menu.  NCL has both surcharge restaurants and no surcharge restaurants, like most ships these days -- the difference is, NCL has more and a greater variety of surcharge restaurants than most other cruiselines offer (Italian, French, Steakhouse, Asian fusion, sushi, Teppan, etc.). You can still choose from the basic included restaurants, or you can (for a price which isn't hidden) opt for a surcharge restaurant/menu. How is anyone being "nicked" (which sounds to me like "ripped off?")
Babs1121 Posted October 14, 2008 #7 Share Posted October 14, 2008 When you board the ship do they give you paperwork that shows what restaurants have extra charges and how much they are? Thank you
snorklinbarb Posted October 14, 2008 #8 Share Posted October 14, 2008 Babs, All the charges are listed in the Freestyle Daily. You get one when you embark and after that each night. Sometimes they run specials so keep an eye on the Daily for details.

How is anyone being "nicked" (which sounds to me like "ripped off?") I agree, you can choose to use the pay extra or you can simply go to those restuarants that do not cost extra. Why does this bother people? These same people LOVE the low cruise fares we pay compared to what we paid 10 years ago,but yet they feel everything should be included in that cheap fare. So what if the lobster tails will cost $25. What do you think you would pay in a land restuarant for them?
