FYI on spelling "Progreso"

Just in case any of you are doing web searches on this city....It is spelled incorrectly on this board and therefore may not bring up all the info that is out there on the web. There is only 1 "s", not 2....

Also, be sure you are reading about the Progreso on the Yucatan, not the Progreso near Reynosa Mexico and McAllen, Texas.

 

I cannot tell you how puzzled I was when my TA told me we'd be going to Progreso. My first reaction was "how do they get the boat up the rio Grande"

I just came back from Carnival Glory 12/18 cruise that included a Progreso stop. I wish I could claim $1 from Carnival for every time they spelled it incorrectly with "ss" in the daily Capers newsletter on board. Heck, even their debarkation board next to the gangway exit spelled it Progresso.
