And for some reason.. the sing along version of Sweet Caroline!.. Its been played at some of our sailaways and usually the crowd up by the bar goes crazy and sings along lol

I like all the choices so far and its had to cruise and not think about Buffett and Boat Drinks, but the first cruise my wife and I went on was in 2005 on Celebrity in the Med and the TV in the cabin when ever it came on had Iz (the Hawaiian singer) singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow. At first drove me nuts but it kinda grew on me and now when I hear it I think of that cruise.

We will be doing another Med cruise (Sep 09 on Liberty) but I'm not sure if I'll take that on my Ipod.....

This is for those that have been on at least one cruise. What song reminds you of a past cruise or favorite time on a cruise? The reason for me asking is that I am redoing my Ipod playlist titled "Cruise", and I like it to be songs you hear on the cruise ship or in ports. I have a lot of steel drums and Jimmy Buffet, but I know there are more.

Oh yeah, my favorite song is "Red Red Wine"

Anything and everything by Jimmy Buffet . . . not a "Parrot Head" but I hear his music and I'm on a cruise ship headed to the Caribbean . . . :p My ten year old Westie was even named Tiki after his Tiki Bar . . . hum, maybe I am a Parrot Head . . . . :D

hmmm... the songs i would pick are probably a bit less known, but are awesome nonetheless.

even if you've never heard of these... give them a try, they're good :)

A-Punk - by Vampire Weekend

The Lines You Amend - by Sloan

Australia - by The Shins

Gronlandic Edit - by of Montreal

Neighborhood #2 - by The Arcade Fire

and, perhaps more well known, Cabin Essence by Brian Wilson :D

I don't know why they remind me of cruising... but they're all fun tracks!

When sailing on the Legend out of New York July 16, 2005 returning back to NYC. The cruise director, i think Brett Alans (not sure), and the rest of the Entertainment staff did the "If I Were Not Upon The Sea" skit. Hilarious!!!!!! and whenever i go through the pictures of that cruise i imagine them doing the skit. The best person was Yo Richie as the chip'n'dale lol

anyone else remember that??? one of my favorite songs now!!!

I like that Kokomo song! I also like the one that goes, "If you like Pina coladas....and being caugt in the rain..."! And for some reason they played the movie "Chicago" all throughout my first cruise so whenever a song from that movie is playing, I think of cruising!

You're thinking of Escape by Rupert Holmes. Another great song.
