SmooCruise Posted November 24, 2008 #151 Share Posted November 24, 2008 I know it wasn't written about "cruising" on the ocean....but every time I hear Gwenyth Paltrow and Huey Lewis singing "Cruising" it makes me think of being on a cruise ship. It will definitely be playing from my balcony next January on the Spirit! :p

We did a huge playlist the other weekend and ended up with 366 songs on the cruise playlist. Should be good for listening to on the drive to Florida in a few weeks. djacobson Posted November 24, 2008 #157 Share Posted November 24, 2008 Here are a few I did not see mentioned - Banana Boat Song (Day-O) - Harry Belefonte Caribbean Queen - Billy Ocean Get the Party Started - Pink Vacation - Go Gos Put The Lime in the Cocoanut - not sure who did this one.... These are all in my I-Pod playlist just for cruising along with many more and lots of the ones already mentioned..... Coconut was written and sung by the late Harry Nilsson. Great song! I like anything by Jimmy Buffet, particularly One Particular Harbor. George Benson's cover of Beyond the Sea is also a favorite.

grneyedmustang Posted December 27, 2008 #168 Share Posted December 27, 2008 I have a CD that I bought a couple years ago at Target. It's simply called Caribbean Steel Drums, Sea Scapes. It's instrumental soft steel drum music. I go to sleep to it every night. Got this at one of those displays where you punch the button and listen to clips from the CD. *I have that CD too! And it totally reminds me of being on a cruise. I would like to nominate that “hey baby” song that the waiters sing in the dining room.
