I am an only child who has no other family nearby except for a 77-year-old mother with major heart problems and diabetes. For me, purchasing insurance is a necessity.

Us too..... That has always been an consideration for us. My Mother in Law was hospitalized and died just weeks before we left for our Australia / New Zealand trip. She (as well as my mother) was in ill health for many years and we always dreaded getting a call while abroad. Insurance was always a must.

 

Now as we get older,......plus kids and grandkids ... who knows what can happen... We will never go without. ;)
