Zoolander Posted October 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2008 Will be on the Mariner, May 20-27, cruising from Seward, AK to Vancouver, BC. Feel pretty good about it so far as we have all hotel rooms (pre and post cruise) and air taken care of. Will be using the am rail system from Anchorage to Seward but I have this question, what is the best way to get from our drop off point in Vancouver to our hotel in Victoria and then back to the airport in Vancouver? We will be staying at the Delta Victoria Ocean Point for a couple nights post-cruise. Any suggestions? Thanks.
canadagal Posted October 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2008 The best way to get to the Delta is by cab unless you are planning on renting a car while in Victoria. Also, if you are not renting a car then the quickest and most direct route to Vancouver Airport is by plane from Victoria airport. It's about a 30 minute flight if that. Both Air Canada and WestJet have flights from Victoria. Another alternative is the BC ferries which will take you from Vancouver Island over to the mainland. http://www.bcferries.com/ You can book as a pax only or pax and car. I also believe there is a bus service that goes to the airport. Pat
Zoolander Posted October 23, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted October 23, 2008 Thanks, I will look into the ferries. Do the BCFerries come out of the same area that the Mariner will dock?
canadagal Posted October 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 23, 2008 No the ferries do not operate where the Mariner docks and they are on the opposite side of the island. I found this link for you about the bus schedule. http://www.pacificcoach.com/Schedule/Cruiseship Pat.
DaveFr Posted October 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 23, 2008 Zoolander, If you are not renting a car, I think the best option for you is the bus. Pacificcoach will take you from either cruise ship terminal to the bus station in Victoria and from the bus station in Victoria to the Vancouver airport. You would use a hotel shuttle, if it exists, or a taxi between the bus station and your hotel. Here are some pertinent links: http://www.pacificcoach.com/Schedule/Cruiseship http://www.pacificcoach.com/Schedule/Airport Hope this helps. Tom Gregory Posted October 27, 2008 #7 Share Posted October 27, 2008 We did the post cruise in Victoria through Regent and they flew us via Helijet to Victoria. The Helijet terminal is within view of the Vancouver dock. I have not priced it compared to taking a plane over but it may provide another option. The ferries will be the cheaper route, but if I wanted to get there quicker I would fly either by plane or helicopter.
Rare crusinbanjo Posted October 27, 2008 #8 Share Posted October 27, 2008 I used the JetCopter, Helijet service, it was fantastic, easy and fast. When they land in Victoria, a shuttle to the hotel is available. and Yes, see post above all of it is correct.
