drlee Posted October 26, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2008 In our opinion, the major difference between the Concierge Class and Sky Suite is the size of the suite and balcony. Significantly larger in the case of SS. The butler for SS is nice, but you get essentially the same service in CC...daily fruit and appetizers (the latter delivered in the afternoon). Otherwise, services are essentially the same...except for where you may be seated for dinner...they tend to put you with passengers of the same class. themutis Posted October 26, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 26, 2008 The butler adds alot of value - as does the full in-room breakfast and full in-room lunch and dinner if you want. You can order off of the dining room menu and have your meal delivered to your room. This includes the full set up of the table with table cloth and china. Also the cappuccino were a great treat at team time - and are included. If you need reservations the butler will also help with that.
kitty9 Posted October 26, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 26, 2008 You also get a tub rather than just a shower. It's great to sit in a nice bubble bath after a long day of touring.
Guri Posted October 26, 2008 #6 Share Posted October 26, 2008 Definately square footage!!!! Canape is served on both suites & cc. Suites, your bulter comes around in mid afternoon with trolley full of tea sandwich, sweets & cofee/Tea...as far as dining seating our experience on European cruises, we were seated with people near our age... We did the ss the year we both turned 60; for us we thought of it as going "all-out" for our 60th and we combined an Alaskan cruise on Infinity with a Rocky Mountaineer Train trip to the Candian Rockies. The Rocky Mountaineer trip was "gold leaf" so we felt we should also do a suite and fortunately for us we had "smashing" Nicki as our Butler. Even though we probably won't do it again - unless it was with Nicki; we have really super special memories of that trip. However, the only special request we asked of the Nicki that I remember were cappacino's and espresso's in the afternoonl But they were fantastic. And we did get a lot more that we cherished - mostly the chit chat with Nicki about family and also his recommendations as to what to do on a particular day. I would bet that most all the butlers on Celebrity will make your cruise speical in one way or another. And the extra room is nice too! Don't be afraid to ask; they probably don't know how to say no. I think we are most at home in Celebrity Concierge class as it fits our budget too. Edie

Glad to see you are cruising again. You will love Summit and the SS will be nice for you. Maybe you could get a handicapped SS? We had one on Summit and it was nice. Somewhat larger than normal. No tub in bathroom though. Right near main elevators. You will be in Europe one month before us. We are doing the westbound TA from Barcelona to Miami and sail on December 1, 2008. Some friends that were on Scandanavia & Russia cruise with us (and you) are going also. Have a great cruise. John & Carole
