Been There, Planning That Posted October 28, 2008 #26 Share Posted October 28, 2008 Thanks LHT and Megr for confirming that BtoB simply take clever research. Until reading these blogs I never even considered such a thing. We've simply looked for longer cruises. I must admit our budget doesn't allow for repeat cruises but one to a new area would be great. Thanks experts.
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 28, 2008 #27 Share Posted October 28, 2008 I'm surprised that nobody has posted one of the great benefits... On the last evening of the original cruise, you purchase a bottle of duty-free liquor and take it to your cabin for the next leg. (Note: At least on Norwegian, you would be able to get away with this.) Not on HAL.

Thanks experts. All of the back-to-back cruises that we have done except for 1 were all different itineraries -- which we love. HAL makes it easy to check itineraries on their website. Recently HAL has been giving us a bit of a discount when we book back-to-back cruises.
Daisy May Posted October 28, 2008 #29 Share Posted October 28, 2008 On the Freedom a couple of weeks ago at the end of the first leg we met in the Champagne Bar at 9:30 to be escorted off the ship through customs. You have to wait for the ship to be cleared of previous passengers before you can go through customs. We kept waiting while they called one passenger over and over. We were waiting and the poor crew that were leaving couldn't go anywhere. And don't you know some of them had flights to catch to go home. Finally some kid/man about 25 was escorted to customs. I think he had partied too hard the night before and slept through alarms/announcements. Anyway, once he was gone we handed our customs form the the agent and walked right back on. All we needed was our seapass, customs form and passport. Loved it. Sherry
sail7seas Posted October 28, 2008 #30 Share Posted October 28, 2008 Not on HAL. That is not exactly accurate and gives a wrong impression IMO IF you purchased liquor during your cruise and it was held by HAL, it will be delivered to you on the last night of your first cruise. You would then have use of it on your second cruise. People buy liquor in ports and try to bring it aboard. It is not allowed to go with you to your cabin and HAL holds it for you.....same as other cruise lines. Last night, you get it delivered! :)
