We didn’t go to the entertainment. We did have a ball at the Piano Bar with Steve, and I saw the question about whether he would still be here in January , I will be there tonight and get an answer. If I see the CD I will ask him too, but I am not holding out much hope.

Thanks for trying hon! We discovered the piano bar on our last cruise. Had never been to one before. And we loved it!

They will cash traverers check with-out a fee...........dennis

They will cash the travelers checks but I don't know about the fee. I do know that it is best to sign it at the pursers desk and be sure that you and the purser agree on where you sign it. One of our people signed one in the wrong place and they refused to honor it.

Interesting that I am having more problem posting from home than I did from the ship.

Debarkation made up for Embarkation.... We had luggage tags 1 and the kids had 2. Both were called at 9:05 and we were in a taxi to the airport at 9:20!!!

We got down the gangway (people were actually waiting out of the atrium to be called). At the opening to the luggage part of the terminal, a gentleman in a uniform asked for the Customs form .. Handed it over. Then he said "What is you nationality" I said "American" and reached for my passport .. he just waved me through. Now my daughter in law does have an US passport but she was born in Mexico and it is obvious (wish I had her looks ) .. same thing .. did not want to see her passport either.

We found the very organized luggage .. and slogged through the rain and got in a taxi .. 15 minutes .. it was amazing ..

Kathy, we sure did not want to drag all our luggage through the terminal the first day, but we had to as there we're NO porters as we entered. Of course, us being us, we were there bright and early to get things started! There finally showed up with baggage carts at one of the check points.

Great review by the way.

Hi Kathy! So glad we finally were able to meet, I'm just sorry we weren't able to spend more time getting to know each other!

I agree with you 100% about the waiter, he really seemed arrogant as well as put out...AND he kept bringing the dessert menus while we were still eating dinner! I really liked Marco, his assistant! After saying all this, I hope my information is correct and you guys were at the same tables as us..150 & 152? Great tables, we had an awsome view as the skies turned dark each night. On the last night with all the rocking and rolling my knife vibrating right off my plate, it was funny.

Speaking of vibrating....I'm sitting here and it feels like I'm still onboard ~ I can't stop the rock and roll feeling! I love it.....Oh how I loved being at sea...can't wait to go again!

Kathy, thanks for posting this thread. You did great. I agree with all that Kathy has said so far...

I am a definite REPEAT Carnival cruiser, and I am going to take a break for a while. The dining room experience, in many aspects, left MUCH to be desired. I liked the food, generally. Just not anything outstanding. I did NOT like the wait staff or matre' deeee.. <sorry>

The supper club.. AWESOME. Our cabin steward(s) OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will have photos for you once I can upload. Whomever has cabin 6262, please tell Wayan we MISS HIM, give him a hug, and tell him we gave him an outstanding rating!!!

Once my computer is fixed.. will upload photos asap. Christine.. if you got a photo of our cabin decorated.. please upload!

Karen

PS: I MISS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Debbie - Yes, we had tables 150, 152 and 154. But, I think 154 had different wait staff. I had asked the waiter the 1st night at dinner what night the Turkey Farfalle was going to be served. It's a running joke w/ me and Connie that she always has that, and I have the enchiladas that night. He told me the menus had changed and we wouldn't see that dish. Well, lo and belold, there it was on the 2nd to last night. The menus hadn't changed.

We even wound up eating our entree in the dark some nights while the "entertainment" was going on. Karen and I normally leave before they start their singing and dancing but we weren't able to, because the entree had just been served.

Thanks again for posting. I'll be in the next door cabin in a few weeks, 6262. An aft wrap did come available for my cruise, but I just wasn't able to splurge for it. Maybe next time.

Glad you are having fun. Wish I was there!!

Karen and I had cabin 6262. I haven't looked at my photos yet, but I think I may have some of our cabin decorated for the cocktail party we had the 2nd sea day. Once I find, I will post. If Wayan is your cabin steward, please tell him hello from Karen and Christine and mention the monkey and flamingo. I'm sure he won't soon forget us!!

One thing I will warn you about this cabin, and if you've ever had a balcony on the Spirit class ships, you might notice what I mean. It is sllightly narrower and shorter than other balcony cabins I've had before.

The little walk way at the end of the beds going out to the balcony was narrower than others I've had. We had the beds split into 2 twins and the one closest to the couch didn't have much clearance between the end of it and the cabinet on the other wall. You almost have to turn sideways to walk past that bed. And the bed closest to the balcony had no room between it and the balcony door wall.

We had a side balcony towards the aft on the Pride 2 years ago, and had the beds set up this same way, and I was able to lay on the floor between the bed and the balcony windows (not by choice, sort of happened after a night of too much drinking!)

Some friends of ours had cabin 6333 which was 2 doors down and they had more room than we did...cabin was wider and longer.

This wasn't a major issue and we didn't enjoy the cabin any less because of it. It's just something that I immediately noticed and thought I'd share.

Christine

Random Thoughts: Food in the dining room, well, I did'nt have to cook it! But I agree with the others, I've had better. The beef dishes were bland I thought. The beef stroganoff was "different". Awesome lobster. Now the desserts, Yummy! Loved the Bitter and Blanc, and the bread pudding, which were the same in my opinion, except for the addition of a little chocolate to the Bitter and Blanc. Chocolate Melting Cake is always to die for. On a scale of one to ten, a seven overall.

Finally went on the water slide, several times. I really had fun acting like a kid. It was open most days. We did have a few windy days when it closed, but not so windy that the pools closed, so there was water fun to be had. It seemed like the hot tubs on the fantail were closed a lot. The floor at the bottom of the ladder coming back from the slide can get real slippery, so be careful there. We saw a lot of slipping and falling one day.

Games, hmmm. Well I had enjoyed the Survivor game last year and was looking forward to it, and unless I'am mistaken, it was not played this year. Saw the Chicken Olypics on the TV, and that was funny! WE mostly stayed at the fantail pool area on lido this year, so probably missed some fun things. WE went and played varies trivia games indoors. WE had a team that played in the Amazing Spirit Race and that was a blast! Our team Won! WooHoo! Between that, and trivia, our group won "5" coveted 24 carat plastic ships on a stick. Another goal achieved.

Room. Tiny. No sofa area this time around (we had an inside), but the lido is our real "home" area, so not that big of deal. Our bed was like a rock, so we requested a mattress topper, and after that, perfection. Love the pillows. Our Steward, Micheal, and assistant Henry were always super freindly and helpful. I was able to "tour" an aft wrap suite the first day. (Thank you Shannan) That blew me away. Someday.... Even the regular balcony rooms were great to visit.

Halloween was a hoot, I heard the staff was very surprised so many dressed up. The shows are fun, although I did'nt go to as many as usaul.

Take lots of money that you don't need if going to the casino, the machines are hungry. Although a few CC'rs did Ok.

Hate being home in the rail today.:( But already planning in my head.:p
