SDPadreFan Posted October 30, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2008 Whale migrations begin in Alaska in October with most whales arriving in the Cabo San Lucas area around December. So it's POSSIBLE you may see them.

7toEleven Posted October 30, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2008 We thought we saw something last week. At least we saw spouts of water. Others reported seeing whales. Of course that was on the special Mojito day!

mii Posted November 1, 2008 #7 Share Posted November 1, 2008 We just got off the Star Princess on a 10 day cruise and a couple of days ago my DH saw a spout off of the ship so yes they are heading down to warmer waters. The whale season is usually Dec through Feb. but you see a lone whale heading down there now. Marilyn
crewser Posted November 1, 2008 #8 Share Posted November 1, 2008 We just got off the ship yesterday and saw whales on the day at sea between Cabo and San Diego. A couple of times they would flip their large tales out of the water.

wwwmarge Posted November 3, 2008 #10 Share Posted November 3, 2008 Off San Diego in Sept. while my GD was at Sea Camp, they saw Orca's. The staff said it was the first time. Must of lost their way or Sea World is letting them escape. I'll be looking for sure on our way down to Mex Dec 14...on the VOS.
nini Posted November 3, 2008 #11 Share Posted November 3, 2008 My daughter went to the Oregon coast a couple of weeks ago and saw many whales migrating. They were close to shore and quite a sight.
daldog Posted November 4, 2008 #12 Share Posted November 4, 2008 Yep, we just back Saturday and saw three - separate occassions, not together - on the sea days to and from Cabo.
WWm Posted November 5, 2008 #13 Share Posted November 5, 2008 Just returned from Mex Riv ...as we pulled out of the Cabo area about two nautical miles north we saw on the port side 2 whales blowing water.... but as we got closer we realized they were not whales... just a couple of heavy set guys doing the back stroke and drinking margaritas...they had missed their ship and were headed north to Los Angeles... :D;) Quite a sight... wish I had taken pics...
