39august Posted November 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2008 I recently sailed on AOS in a deck 10 D1 aft cabin. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was 5-6 feet longer than other D1 cabins I have been in. Is this also the case with the D1's (only on deck 10) on Mariner, please? cb at sea Posted November 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2008 Yes, all of the "aft" cabins have deeper than normal balconies. Very nice!
39august Posted November 4, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted November 4, 2008 I know all about the big balconies aft. I am asking if the Mariner deck 10 D1 CABINS are longer than the average D1 cabins.
Redheada Posted November 4, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2008 I havent sailed her yet - scheduled to next April. But we have an aft D1 on Deck 10 (1690 to be specific) and I did alot of research and for sure the balconies are bigger. Even the Aft E1 balconies are bigger. I understand they have room for 2 loungers, 2 chairs and a table or something similar.
Redheada Posted November 4, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 4, 2008 Sorry I guess I misread your post too! I am not sure about the cabins being longer. I think they are the same. Just bigger balconies.
wrp96 Posted November 4, 2008 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2008 Are you asking about 1688 and 1388? Then yes, those cabins are the same on Mariner as on AOS. They are larger than a regular D1.
39august Posted November 4, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted November 4, 2008 I also know about 1688 and 1388 being larger. I was in 1392. It was definitely longer than regular D1's.
over the edge Posted November 4, 2008 #8 Share Posted November 4, 2008 We sailed in 1690 on Navigator and 1694 on Voyager. The cabins are definitely deeper. I found them to be about the width of a door wider. Four of the aft cabins are connecting and have the extra door into the next cabin. The small amount of extra space is very noticeable and nice. :)
39august Posted November 4, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted November 4, 2008 Thank you overthe edge! I have a hold on 1690 MOS for the price of an E cabin. What a deal, huh? My TA is awesome!
over the edge Posted November 4, 2008 #10 Share Posted November 4, 2008 Thank you overthe edge! I have a hold on 1690 MOS for the price of an E cabin. What a deal, huh? My TA is awesome! We loved that cabin and balcony. I would have to say, having cruised 5 times with a balcony (3 aft), 1690 has been my favorite. We have 7688 and 1688, both aft, booked on upcoming cruises. So....we'll see........;)
