lbw Posted November 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2008 Since we are driving to our port, we are not affected by airline baggage limits. I'd like to take an oversized bag (nearly 36") but I need to be sure it's OK. Any dimension or weight limits? I couldn't find anything specific on the Celebrity site. Longboysfan Posted November 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2008 Yes. There is a baggage size limit. Can you fit it through the door to the room. That is about it.
PurpleCow Posted November 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2008 It it's too large to store in your room, ask your room steward to store it for you until the last day.
Lsimon Posted November 5, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2008 This thread makes me think of the old steamer trunks people traveled with years go. Never seen one of those on an airplane or cruise ship lately!
lbw Posted November 6, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Thanks for the info. Glad to know our bag is OK and that we can have it stored. Now I don't have to keep editing our wardrobe. Of course, DH may have to do some working out to get in shape enough to lift it. :D Lsimon, I think those folks on the early liners had the right idea when they traveled with those huge steamer trunks filled with elegant clothes for nightly lavish dinners and parties!!! Hey! Who says we don't bring along a lot of elegant clothes (especially my DW) for nightly lavish dinners and parties!!! - We love these nightly events - we just pack a few slightly smaller suitcases instead of one big trunk! jayoldschool Posted November 6, 2008 #7 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Driving to a cruise is great! We left from NJ to Bermuda, and we had BIG suitcases. Brought a laptop, a nice radio for our room, and... beach umbrella and chairs. When we were getting off the ship every day to go to the beach with our umbrella and chairs, so many people said "why didn't we think of that?" Chairs went perfectly under the bed with the empty suitcases...
signman Posted November 6, 2008 #8 Share Posted November 6, 2008 If you read all of the fine print, somewhere you might find that you are limited to 200# per person, but there is no size or quantity limit up to the 200 pounds.
phoenix_dream Posted November 6, 2008 #9 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Only real issue may be where to store all the stuff if it is mainly clothes. But I guess I could ask the question as to why in the world you would want to mess with that much luggage? But then again, none of my business. Enjoy :p
