Free Internet on Emerald

We'll be on the Emerald next week and will have free internet minutes due to our Platinum status. Since this is the first time we plan to use it can someone tell me the procedure for accessing the free usage? Also,would love to hear what your recent experiences have been with the Wi-Fi and internet cafe onboard.

When you first sign onto the internet, you can purchase a package of minutes. Pick the package which has the cost that matches what you will get free. After a day or two, get a copy of your charges at the Purser's desk and verify that you were given credit for your Platinum status.

 

The package cost will be billed to your room account and immediated subtracted as their computers know your Platinum status. If both of you in the cabin have Platinum status, then each of you can sign on and do the same.

 

Sometimes if you sign up on the first day, you can receive bonus minutes.

 

You will not be charged the one time sign-on fee of about $3.95.

 

The minutes can be used on both their computers in the internet cafe and on your laptop. The internet cafe will have information on how to sign on (and especially off) on your laptop.

 

By the way, most likely way of initially signing on is to give your cabin number/name (Example E624JJones) and birthdate. You will then be able to select a password. Instructions will be in the Internet Cafe.
