Beaches?

Hi Everyone,

Already did the 7 mile beach excursion our last time to Grand Cayman. Too many loungers, too many people etc. Is there a better beach to go to not too far from the Port area. Plus would like to shop a little too, any suggestions? We're headed to GC in Jan 09. Thanks, Anne

HAPPY CRUISING!:D

Try Cemetery beach. It is on the west end of 7 mile, way less people and awesome snorkeling.

Thanks for the information. Will a taxi take us there, is it easy to get a taxi back, does it cost to get onto the beach and do they have facilities there (bathrooms, lounges, umbrellas & food)?

A taxi will take you there and return taxis should be easy to flag down as you're right on a main road. The beach is free, as are all beaches in Cayman. However, Cemetary Beach doesn't have any facilities, at least not like Royal Palms or Sea Grape.

Bookbabe,

thanks for the info. I think Royal Palms sounds like a better deal to go to the beach for the day. Do you have good weblink for that beach or some info you can share? It's greatly appreciated! :D

For tons more info on either Royal Palms or Sea Grape, which is a similar section of Seven Mile, just do a quick search in these forums or scan the titles of the threads...there have been dozens and dozens of threads that will give you all of the beach info you could ever want...
