Gerbera Posted November 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2008 G'day All, The ONLY other Cruise Roger and I have been on is the 2 night in March earlier this year! (trial to see if I would like cruising) I have to admit Pacific Sun is half the size of the "Dawn Princess" which we will be travelling on this Sunday for 12 nights "Pacific Idlyll" On the Pacific Sun, I became so disorientated many times and lost my way back to where Roger was! Do they have any kind of Walkie Talkie devices available on board? Or do you think it is worthwhile to try and purchase something before we leave? Roger says, If I get lost at anytime, I can meet him in the Casino, but how long will it take before he realises I am lost! LOL. (or I could always JUST send him?) Who knows how long it could take me to find the Casino LOL. I though some kind of Walkie Talkie Device would keep us in contact?? Any suggestions?? Cheers Carolyn & Roger :)
dforeigner Posted November 17, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2008 They usually have two way radios available for rent. There are also maps available in your stateroom.

If I could follow a map, I wouldn't get lost!! LOL How can I follow a map, when I'm lost?? It's a female thing!! I'll enquire about the 2 way radios or look into some walkie talkies :) Roger says, 2 way radio's are nearly same as walkie talkie? Thanks for your reply :) CHEERS Carolyn :)
-Lew- Posted November 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 17, 2008 On our recent CB cruise, we brought four new Motorola T9500XLR two-way radios for our group. Having used older Motorola two-ways on previous cruises with marginal reception at best, we were all pleasantly surprised at the performance of the T9500XLRs aboard ship. There was nowhere on the ship we could not make contact. Lew

CwazeAndCwaze Posted November 17, 2008 #6 Share Posted November 17, 2008 Getting lost is one of the things I love most about big ships! Oh the things you discover!
psyfi Posted November 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted November 18, 2008 We always use walkie talkies on board. We have our own set as we have even been known to use them in the mall when we split up! FYI, there may be some tips to help you from getting lost (it does often take a couple days). Most ships have different colours on the port (left ) and starboard (right side) carpets. Many have patterns that point toward the bow. I have never been on your ship so I can't say for certain but I'd look into it, it would help immensely!
