RCL was probably trying to get that back too but legally your cruise was paid even if the commssion was deducted from your final payment. They would have to consider it paid in full. That's the difference between what has happened to OP and others who owe a lot of money. RCL didn't get any of it, whereas they did get the OP's money minus the commission.
