QE2 Video

Someone earlier on this board was asking about QE2 videos earlier today.

Once again Neil thanks for the link to this amazing recording of yours. I enjoyed it so much that I watched a second time. The canal is so different to what I thought it would be.. Is it wide enough for ships to pass in the opposite direction? Sorry if this is a silly question but I have never seen the Suez Canel before....:o

It depends where you are :)

 

It might make sense to look at it on google maps:

Some parts are split in two. You'll see a strip of land down the middle and you keep to "lane" on the right :)

 

Other places it looks like a really wide river, and ships keep to the right. There's plenty of room for every one.

 

It's much wider than Panama.

Wow Neil I just had a good look and it is so long and straight, and much wider than I thought it would be....yeap, it is pleanty wide enough for 2 ships to pass ..thanks again!!!
