Carnival Victory 11-2 / 11-9 Review

ok, here's my next question ;-) I have read that some of the decks you can't walk from one end to the other, you may have to go up one, over, then down. Is this true on the Victory? if so, which decks?

information is power....

You can find all the deck layouts of every ship on carnival dot com.

I know that the deck with the dinning rooms is one that you can not go from one end to the other, due to the rooms encompassing the width of the ship and the galley being between them.

OK let's see now...

Cutie in the stern pool on Lido deck.

and then there was this Bongo-drumming guy dockside at Dominica

DOMbongo-74.jpg

with a dancing dude helping him attract donations

We walked around Roseau a bit..

although it was Dominica's Independence Day and many shops were shut tight...oh well..

It can be pleasant around the stern pool, some cruises..

The kids tend to occupy the midships pool area

if only because the waterslide is in that area

-leaving the stern pool(near the Pizza) to the older folk with more mature taste.

So if you want to sun your bunz tastefully like this beautiful lady

don't do it amidships - go Aft Ladies

Hope this helps y'all..

We're doing this cruise in March (59 days wo hoo!) I can't wait, and the only night I care to eat in the dinning room is the night of prime rib and lobster. (I get both) The rest of the time I think we'll just eat at the Buffets. Fancy food doesn't do a whole lot for us.

Another great photo....especially when the lows here tonight in NC are going down to 10!

APLMAC...you had rated The Crane at a 10.5. How would you rate Bottom Bay? We have alread started looking for land vacations in Barbados in the future. So many wonderful things to see and experience!

APLMAC...you had rated The Crane at a 10.5.

How would you rate Bottom Bay?

For sheer beauty I'd give it an 11 outa 10,

but considering that there are zero amenities there,..

maybe somewhere between 10 and 10.5 realistically?

You'll find NO bar, chairs, umbrellas, drinks, snacks.

You take with you what you need -that's IT.

And it's down a narrow, rough-ish road

but oh man is it ever cute at the end of that road. :)

You may notice my pics are taken from up high, on top the cliffs at coconut-tree level

so you may want to do similar, before you make your way down the steps to the beach 35 ft. below the cliff-tops.

Sounds like the "worst" beach in Barbados is GREAT! :D
...but it's kinda far out there, an hour by taxi to get there

(hopefully he knows the parish of St.Philip well enough to find it

-the road is signposted).

Pay him when he comes back for you because if you get left there

you'll be hard pressed to find a taxi -it's out in the sticks!!:D

Bumping this back to the front page for other's to enjoy!
That four letter word

...that first word of yours, is a big no-no.

I've already been 'told off' for burping things up to the top(albeit to help someone)

and received a permanent warning on my User Control Panel

so be careful.

Find something to say but don't mention the b-word, okay?

And here's Roseau Dominica in the evening

Do you remember what time the Muster Drill is held since the ship leaves port at 10pm?
Just had a look at the time info on the series of 4 or 5 shots I took

and it seems it's around 9:45 when I was taking those pics

during the assembling/goofing-around stage of the whole deal!

MusterDrill-934.jpg

I seem to remember that by the time it was done(10? 10:10?)

we went back upstairs to put the Orange Horrors away

and we were already moving..

Underway-63.jpg

so I just went out on the balcony and took pics(not like me, I know)

I copied this out of some thread a while ago for my own tip sheet

"The ship's layout was confusing due to the two-story main dining rooms which prohibited you from walking fore-and-aft on those decks. Decks 5 and 9 are your friends. You can get just about anywhere from either deck."

we don't sail til July, so I can't vouch for it.

I wouldn't sweat it, if I were you.

It takes time to get accustomed to anything new.

Before you cruise you should consult deck plans of your ship/any ship/every ship.

Knowledge beforehand is marvellous stuff, really! ;)

You'll find these useful things on board..

Elevator-532.jpg

- they'll get you up and down, but not across decks..

(don't laugh...there are silly people who ask about 'elevators' that somehow do the walking for you!)

You need to get one of those Cruise Countdown things going, in your signature block!

Up on the top bar on this page you'll see Countdown Clocks ..click on that link and make a start!
