39august Posted November 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2004 How much is it to get to this beach, please? And is there any shade or any chair/umbrella rentals?
simkoreb Posted November 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2004 From what I've read, you can take a bus there for $2.50. Hop on at the library. Not sure about taxi prices. I do not believe there are chairs for rent because it'a at a cemetary, not a hotel. I don't believe there is anything to rent or eat there. I've been looking into this beach for awhile, but have never been there. I think all this is accurate. caymanvacations.com/general/bus_service.htm Go to this website for bus information. lvz2cruz Posted November 9, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2004 Cemetery Reef is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the tender dock. It is just past a cemetery, not in one. When you pass the cemetery you walk into a parking lot of a very small apartment complex. It has a wooden dock into 6-8 feet of water. The snorkeling is great, but for small children the water is too deep for just playing in the water. There are many palm trees and some beach chairs, but no refreshments or bathrooms. We felt like we were trespassing, but all beaches in Grand Cayman are public.
Janett Posted November 10, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2004 Cemetary "Beach" is in West Bay. You would have to take bus/taxi to reach it. There are no chair rentals, snack bars, etc. There is a plaza approx 10 mins walk away which has a Subway restaurant but otherwise it's just sea and sand. As far as I know Cemetary Reef is also here - see www.skin-diver.com/caymanislands/gc_main.stm #40.
