Anyone heard about a NCL sale starting Monday, 12/15?

Arwen just so you know we just got of the Gem 12/13 and the cruise consultant was unable to book us a cruise onboard, all he really does is sell the cruise rewards program.

Well I have to say that that is one of the stupidest things I have heard them do yet. I mean yes I can buy the certificates and then book when I get home, but what an additional PITA and that means another week of the change the cabin I need will be gone. Geesh!

Thanks for the info though.

Thank you once again to everyone who helps out with all the tips!

Today I called to arrange final payment. I asked about the sale and they knocked another $200 off of each of our mini suites!

I don't owe them anything!

In fact my compass rewards certficates that I sent certified last week will more than cover the entire cost of the cruise and I will be getting about $250 credited to my credit card. They also noted that my compass rewards were to be applied and I didn't have to cover the cost up front for the entire cruise and wait to be credited back. They just made a note in my file and it's all paid for now.

Now I just need to verify that my previously credited $600 OBC's can be used to cover *everything* as I've seen on another thread!!

Yay! I called NCL and at first the rep said the on board credit program hadn't changed but then I told a few of the details of "what I'd heard through the grapevine" and it rang a bell. She pulled up an email and read the policy off to me that went into effect yesterday. The OBC's you get when booking during a sale/promotion are now good for casino/bingo and service charges!!!!

OBC = Money in your onboard account!!!:)

The email quoted in here says that "all sailings" are on sale, but I'm not finding any lower price for the date I'm going. I probably won't bother to NCL if this is the case.

To the people who have gotten NCL to give them the lower prices...where did you find this lower price? On the website? Word of mouth? Through the grapevine? Where?

This is the email I got from an agent:

Year End BLOWOUT Sale Begins Dec. 15th!

  • ALL NCL Sailings On Sale! (see below)
  • ALL 7+ night sailings have $50-$700 onboard credit!
  • Deposits SLASHED by 50%!
  • BONUS: Book A Balcony or Suite & Receive

...and we just booked on December 13th! sheesh.

You can cell and re book. We do that all the time.

Ok I now have this sale right here on the board as I am reading it, It is one of those ad things that is between posts in a thread, saying NCL all 2009 and 2010 salings on sale OBC up to 500 including suites and Lowered deposit. says to click on it, it is one of the board sponsors.

So obviously it is already out there now.

that much I dont know.. it seemed from Us2inFL's post above that they did not use that specfic agency.. so that would make be believe its not specific to 1 agency..

Jbiz, email me and I will send your my agent's information. You can take over from there. I don't know if this agent can transfer the booking from BPC, but she is very familiar with that company.

Also, Us2inFL, how do I send you an email (I dont see a Private Message feature in these boards and dont see your email in your profile).. Let me know.

The sale is combinable (sp?) with other specials, if you have any, and there is some sort of a Visa promo going on too, so you can get additional OBC with that.

Below are links from my previous post about the Visa and American Express promos. The Visa discount is available til 2/29/09 and the American Express is good til 12/31/08. I didn't use the link for my Visa discount, my TA automatically gave it to me. Be sure you ask!

In reading information contained when you click on the link it appears that you have to book with SevenSeas to get this promotion. Has anyone booked directly with NCL to get this promo?

I did not book directly with NCL but I did call today to check rates on a December 2011 Hawaii cruise and I was told I could get a 250 credit per person (for the first two in a cabin)by booking a suite, so you don't have to book with a particular agency to get these end of season deals.

I did not read that it was new bookings only.. does anyone else know if that is what NCL is saying?
