heatherandjohn Posted December 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2008 Hi! We were upgraded from a A1 class veranda room to room C2 1174. It comes with some extras (champagne, fruit, appetizers, etc). Do you think this is a good room? We never had a balcony room before. Thanks, Heather and John

I love it because we reserved a CC room for a B2B in 2009!
nps001 Posted December 15, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2008 I know some will disagree, but I would never book a cruise without a balcony. Okay, never say never....perhaps if I really wanted an itinerary and no balconies were available. We love to relax on the balcony. And a rare treat was having dinner on the balcony as we sailed away from San Juan. Some may disagree but I think once you stay in a balcony cabin, there is no going back. Once you stay in a balcony cabin, there is no going back. All the nice little perks are great too. I disagree with the high powered binoculars though....maybe they just didn't have the progressive bi-focals built in to them lol! Enjoy!!
Cruisenouvelle Posted December 15, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 15, 2008 This should be a nice cabin. There are cabins above and below you (as opposed to public areas, like the pool, nightclubs, etc., which can get noisy) so it will be quiet. Don't be shy about asking for any amenities to which you're entitled - your cabin attendant should have most of them in place already. Have a great cruise! You'll enjoy Solstice - the most beautiful ship on the ocean. Enjoy the balcony - the lounges and footrests are brand new and comfortable. CC also has a great room service breakfast menu that you can enjoy on the balcony! WOW - I wish I was back on board -
LiLyjack Posted December 15, 2008 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2008 in february it will be our first cruise ever We choose a cabin with a balcony it was a balcony or no cruise hahaha I don't like to feel crush , like with no air. for some person it may be ok, but for us, we loved a balcony. we had a small boat for many years, on a lake, and we loved to look at the water, sun, etccccccc;)

C 2 C Posted December 15, 2008 #9 Share Posted December 15, 2008 Table for two Cushioned chairs High-powered binoculars (to use onboard) Were there cushions on the balcony chairs on Solstice? We enjoyed 4 different cabin locations, none had cushions.
DCT61 Posted December 15, 2008 #10 Share Posted December 15, 2008 I didnt think so...we were in a suite and had access to a AC stateroom...neither had cushions. (Although I know that the suites higher than "sky suites" had wicker type furniture with cushioned seating surfaces)
