MamaParrotHead Posted December 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2008 I was wondering if it'd ever been discussed, doing a "co-op" thing, like they do at Disney on the Disney boards, with the strollers? I have a friend who's cruising with us with a little one, and for the short amount of time she'd use it, she was wondering if anyone would be interested in selling her theirs or a group of people chipping in and taking turns. Just thought I'd ask. ;)
6rugrats Posted December 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2008 It seems like a good idea, but I think sharing a car seat is just too risky. You would have no idea what had happened to it in the past. Once a seat is in an accident, it's supposed to be discarded and replaced. I know that every organization where I live that accepts donations (Salvation Army, Vincent de Paul, etc.) will not accept any infant/child items such as cribs, playpens, car seats etc., simply for safety reasons. MamaParrotHead Posted December 16, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted December 16, 2008 I don't think they'd necessarily be affected by any accidents like other carseats might. They're designed to fold up...they're like nylon-covered particle board, from what I can tell.
