Western or eastern carribbean december 2009

We just came off the Gem, NY to Bahamas, great cruise! We are looking at December 2009 Eastern or Western Carribbean, any thoughts on which you liked better? We like to beach, shop and explore historical places but are not big excursion people. We like to do things ourselves mostly. Which ports are the best? Thanks!

I like the adventure of western, but if you're not big excursion ppl I'd go eastern. :)

I'm with Jeepjules, I would personally go Western any day... but based on your interests - I think you would definitely prefer Eastern. Tons of shopping on Eastern. To really enjoy Western, you have to be a little more adventurous, IMHO.

 

Either way, you will have a great time.
