Blizzard54 Posted November 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2004 Does anyone out there have any information on what hotels RCCL uses on pre-cruise overnights? Also any idea on the transfer schedules from IAH?

chris2597 Posted November 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2004 Blizzard I dont know if this is one of the hotels that RCL uses but The Hotel Galvez is wonderful. It is a beautiful historic hotel. We stayed there for a few days last spring break. It has a great pool area and is right across from the beach....however the beach is nothing to brag about in Galveston..... While we were there I overheard some other guests that said they were leaving on a cruise and that the hotel would shuttle them over, pick them up and that they could leave their vehichle in the gated parking lot for the duration of the cruise.... YOu might want to consider renting a car at the airport....I think Budget has a desk at the hotel, drop it off at the hotel and have another reserved on your return for the trip to the airport. We did that on our last cruise out of Ft. L and it was so much more convenient and less expensive.
springtxbill Posted November 11, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2004 The Hotel Galvez and Tremont House are shown on their website as being the pre-cruise hotels.
perceptual therapist Posted November 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2004 Don't forget Harbor House! They are right on the water next to the Alissa, restaurants, the museum, and 3 blocks from the port. The Strand is two blocks away and they offer free continental breakfasts and free trolley tickets.
