bookbabe Posted December 31, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2008 I'm not Drew, so I hope you don't mind me butting in, but as I mentioned in the thread below, I drove by on Sunday and Dolphin Discovery seemed to be open. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=895542
drew sailbum Posted December 31, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2008 There are two different operations, Dolphin Cove or Dolphin Discovery. There was a third on the proverbial drawing board but as far as I know nothing has ever come of it. There are now dolphins in both the Dolphin Cove and Dolphin Discovery facilities. I am aware that they have operated swims for familes and friends of the owners and investors in these facilities. It has been a matter of considerable local discussion that neither facility has yet received all the necessary permits to open. Still, it seems that both facilities are in fact open for business. bookbabe Posted December 31, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2008 Drew, where exactly is the Dolphin Cove facility? We drove around West Bay a bit hoping to find it, but we could only find the Dolphin Discovery one at the old turtle farm...
cowetamom Posted January 1, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 1, 2009 It was open when we were there on Dec 18th. It is right across the street from the Turtle farm at Bostwains beach. [/img]
drew sailbum Posted January 1, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 1, 2009 Refer to the Grand Cayman map at http://www.caymanlandinfo.ky/imagemapfiles/gcindex.htm Dophin Discovery is located on land owned by Boatswain's Bay (the Turtle Farm) and is on a site that was formerly a part of the old Turtle Farm. See box #3 on the Grand Cayman map http://www.caymanlandinfo.ky/AtlasPages/gcpage3.pdf and Dolphin Discovery is immediately adajent to what is marked on the old map as the Turtle Farm at 825 Northwest Point Road. Dolphin Cove is located on Garvin Road (off Batabano Road) adjacent to the area known as Liar's Tree. See box #13 on the Grand Cayman map http://www.caymanlandinfo.ky/AtlasPages/gcpage13.pdf and Dolphin Cove is near what is marked on the old map as 89 Garvin Road. bookbabe Posted January 1, 2009 #8 Share Posted January 1, 2009 Dolphin Cove is located on Garvin Road (off Batabano Road) Thanks...that explains why we couldn't find it. We turned around and went back when we got to the end of Batabano. For some reason, I thought Dolphin Cove was on Batabano itself rather than one of the side streets off Batabano... RumRuner Posted February 5, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 5, 2009 We were at Dolphin Cove in Grand Cayman this past month. I don't remember what the prices were forsure, but they were reasonable and very worth it! We had an amazing time. The information I kept from there however, says to e-mail reservations@caymandolphincove.com and the phone number on the Brochure is 345-946-3396. I hope that helps. The memories from Dolphin Cove are unforgetable. We had done it in Jamicia a few years ago with the same company and it was also an experience of a life time, when the chance came to do it again we jumped, and boyyy was it worth it!
