irishcropper Posted January 2, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2009 Planning a cruise that leaves from Miami, but airfare much cheaper going into Ft. Lauderdale. Does anyone know how long it takes to get to cruise terminal from airport in Ft.Lauderdale? What type of transportation is available. TIA
Virginia Zees Posted January 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2009 About 30-45 minutes. If you fly in the day of your cruise you can use the cruise line transfer which was $28 per person this past September. :)
cruiseguy1016 Posted January 3, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2009 We (4 of us) flew into FLL the day before. We rented a car from Hertz. We drove to our hotel in Miami. We had the car to drive around to sightsee and eat dinner. Hertz has a drop off point 5 minutes from the pier and a free shuttle to take you there. sunluva Posted January 3, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2009 We did the same thing last month... flew into Ft Lauderdale instead of Miami. Just walk out the doors outside of baggage claim area and they have "shared vans"... shuttles that will take you to Miami. It was $21 pp and it was about a 30 min ride. You can either ask for a taxi or the shared van. We did the van as it was much cheaper, just had to wait less than 10 min for other people (they like to fill the van!). We did the same thing on the way home.
