Hello from wintery Cleveland ! I'm sitting here on the East Side (Highland Heights) roaming the boards and anticipating our cruise on the Jade this Sept. (Istanbul-Athens).

 

If, by chance, you'll be there--I'll be sure to look you up. Is there something from "home" that you'd like--besides a T-Shirt from the soon-to-be NBA Champion Cavs??? Or the World Series bound Indians--I hope??? Or the finally competitive Browns--I can dream????

 

I'll check back in a few days to see what's new!

I can't believe the cavs lost today!! I'm going to the game on the 7th so they better do better. I've been in Tucson for a few days but I'm going home tomorrow back to the snow. Thanks for the offer about the t-shirt though!

Thinking back to his past posts... Does NCL have to make an announcement before he does? Does it have something to do with a ship not currently in service? Does it have to do with a port NCL is not currently sailing from?

Maybe the Dream is going to do 3 and 4 day cruises out of Cleveland!

I can see the itinerary now...

Day 1: Depart Cleveland

Day 2: Dock at Toledo. Side trips to Detroit available!

Day 3: Spend the day at NCL's new private island... North Bass Island! (hey, I know one of the islands up there is for sale, just not sure which one.) Ice Fishing anyone!

Day 4: Return to Cleveland... optional day trips available to see the House from Christmas Story!

 

 

Hey, Cincinnati has the Paddlewheelers, Columbus has the Santa Maria (ok, so she is only sailed away from her dock twice a year to turn her around in the Scioto River....) and now Cleveland can have her own ship.

I've taken notice of some little blurbs about the Dream in some of James' past posts also. Port Canaveral would be a no-brainer. They have had good business in the past with 2 nighters. Only problem, the ships were too old to continue. Anyone else remember the old Dolphin IV on Cape Canaveral Cruise Line? Port Canaveral is such a easy port to get in and out of also. It makes it tough to sail out of Miami once you experience the difference.

I have been home sick today and read the entire story. I didn't know James had taken a LOA so it was quite a shock when I read "my last blog" I felt like the hero in a novel I had been reading had just died.

 

I truly enjoyed his stories and wish I could have been so adventerous at his age!

Right near Cincinnati, Indiana has a paddlewheel casino boat that I have actually been on when it moved. I guess when it first opened it had to pull away from the pier and pull back in. SHortest cruise I was ever on.

I'll admit though, the few times I've been to Cleveland, I've loved it. I'm trying to convince the wife we should go there for vacation some time and she thinks I should be committed. She's never been there
