Carnival's Loyalty Program

I'm taking my first Carnival cruise soon and I can't seem to find any info on their website about their loyalty program for previous Carnival cruisers. (unless I just missed it). What is the program called? And can someone tell me about it? What different levels are there, what perks does each level receive? etc).

10 cruises is the magic number.

You will be eligible for a discounted cruise fare after you sail with Carnival once.

On your second Carnival cruise, you will be invited to a Past Guest Party that is an hour-long party with free drinks and snacks.

After 10 cruises, you are Platinum and receive priority embarkation and debarkation. A few little perks, like discounted or free laundry service. Maybe a free gift in your cabin, I'm not sure about that......I have quite a ways to go before I reach Platinum so I haven't paid close attention to what the perks are.

Wow, that's not too much incentive to remain loyal! Aren't Carnival and Princess programs inter-changeable?

No cruise programs are interchangeable, but if you have sailed on Princess you can get the past guest rate on Carnival. Agreed that the loyaltry perks arent that exciting on Carnival, but the list above was just a sample of some. Dont forget the free stationary with your name, some free entry into a poker tournament. Folks love the free laundry, that is big to some here.

If you say its not worth much expect the loyaltists to remind you that Carnival is usually cheaper fare wise.

No. Although Princess is owned by Carnival, they do not share a loyalty program. You have to have 10 cruises on a Carnival ship to reach Platinum. I don't know what Princess does for their loyalty program.

You have to cruise 10 times to receive the above?

On your 10th cruise, you reach Platinum level and receive these perks. In addition, lovely snacks are brought to your room twice during the cruise. Priority boarding, priority on the tenders, seperate line at Guest services and free wash and fold laundry are my faves.

Regarding the complimentary slot/blackjack tournament entry . . . .

Please be advised that it probably will not be offered to Platinum passengers on several 2009 sailings, when your ship's casino will be focused on the "Fortunes Of Fun" events taking place on that ship. All the events are special design, and higher priced, so (if they do like on the November Splendor sailing) you'll be out of luck on getting your chance to win the tourney . . . unless you join in at the higher price.

Fantasy - Feb 2; Pride - April 5; Ecstacy - May 16; Legend - Sept 20; Splendor - Oct 18; Valor - Nov 29.
